Worship Experience was. Wow. Besides me wanting to murder the n5ex because it really died a number of times during the service, besides all the slips and the boos-boos I made. All these are insignificant, because in the midst of worship, God came. He really came, and suddenly I got lost in playing. I didn't know exactly what I was playing, but everyone in the band just got lost in the worship, and enjoyed the reverend presence of God. Wow. It was an awesome time. It was not about the skills of our more mature musicians, nor was it about the wonderful songs, nor was it about our dear Worship Leader trying her best to lead. It was about God. Totally. When God came, everything else faded, nothing was important but simply, worship.
Char did pretty well on the keyboard. I'm glad I told her I'd take over the 2nd half of the service. Left her with more time to learn how to play for the rest. Taught her a little more about when and how to use the sounds to create the atmosphere. She followed what I said. Now all it leaves is for her to integrate it into part of her playing.
Mike did great on vocals! At first I thought he was going to freak out, then I couldn't hear him sing. Then it was all loud and clear. It was a funny idea to get him to sing, but a good one nonetheless. Yesterday while he was EQ-ing me and Ju back faced him and started laughing. HRM.
Speaking of Ju, the ministry letters got a makeover! It's harder now, considering theres like a lot of paint on it. Combined it the lights it looked so pretty! I must say that there's no better person for this role than Ju and Clarise. They are able to produce awesome but very simple decor.
And not forgetting Yvette. She was awesome today. Was telling her that this is just a step to her brcoming a great worship leader. Sure it was God who made the event successful, but she needs the confidence that she CAN worship lead in order to continue on. I must say that she lead us very well! I couldn't see her though. I followed our cute keyboardist in front.
But of course this is not the time to rest on our laurels. When a service is successful, it's time to prepare our hearts to be much more subservient to God, so that the next encounter will be a NEW breakthrough. For one thing, I feel as though my playing sounded terrible. I will never be satisfied with what I play, but I pray that I will never reach the point when I think my playing is perfect. Because it is in inperfection that God is made perfect. It is in my inadequecies that God will fill in the gaps. I need to learn how to worship on 1st Keys better. I'm at ease on 2nd because I'm so used to it. Then when the worship comes, I close my eyes and let the music flow. But on 1st, I still get pretty conscious of what I play. This equates to more practice!! The more practice the easier the music will flow and the faster I will be able to forget about all the technicalities.
Needless to say I was quite annoyed to read this on BC's sb's blog: "R S V P was awesome, though not really as glorious as benny hinn's crusade." WHAT! It just feels degrading. Shouldn't a service be based on experiences with God? Sheesh!
Ah well. Combined Jam after service. Was quite embarassing when Uncle was sharing about F.A.S.T. He was talking about skipping service just to study, he suddenly talked about me going for jams in the midst of exam preparations. It was awkward to say the least. When Bro vic used to share about similar topics he always brought up the fact that I waited 1 year 3 months to start serving. It's weird being mentioned when others are sharing.
I expected Jap to be hard. Bel was telling me that she was glad just to be able to pass and I felt the same way too. Then the paper was simple. Like, simple. 1 hour paper I finished in 10 minutes. But we could only leave after 40 minutes so I was checking my paper. So tired. I slept a grand total of 1 hour last night (morning) so being able to read the hiragana on my paper was already a miracle.
Alright, mug math. I'm going to burn midnight oil today. And take like a 2 hour nap tomorrow after the paper. Like I said, this time round I'm really really short of time. I need God's grace to tide me through and achieve the grades I try to get.
Disclaimer: I didn't take the shots of service. My new photographer did so. I must say that he has a pretty good eye. Sadly my camera can't keep up.

The song for the season.
When I see my kids truly worship, it's when I truly feel blessed for being their leader.
And part of the team!
