I wish uni had a degree called Bachelor of Science (in Sleeping) which I could enroll in. It would be a breeze since I'm the sort who is able to sleep up to 14 hours daily and 16 hours occasionally.
During lectures we would learn about the art of sleeping. How different positions and different locations can contribute to different types of sleeping. And it would be ok for students to sleep during lectures because they are experimenting with what the lecturer is saying. During lab sessions we would each have a lab partner. One goes to sleep in a predetermined setting and the other observes the brainwaves/responses that the sleeper produces.
The final exam would be taking photos of yourself sleeping and doing a short write-up on the different postures and settings in the pictures and talking about how it contributes to a more wholesome sleep.
For honours project, everyone researches on what is the ultimate sleep that one can achieve.
When we graduate, we join the labs who want to figure out more about the human body pertaining to sleep. Or we join companies who produces mattresses and other sleep-inducing products.
What a good degree programme to introduce. I wouldn't mind one please?
